Join MARKS RC
The club is always looking for an opportunity to share the fun of model airplane building and flying with new members. The club welcomes prospective members of all ages. We have many well-qualified instructors that can teach you how to fly.
MARKS RC Waybright Field is an FAA-Recognized Identification Area (FRIA). This permits MARKS members and guests to fly at Waybright Field without the use of remote ID modules.
If you think you might be interested in joining the club and learning to fly, we would suggest that you attend one of our monthly club meetings which are held on the last Tuesday of each month (except November and December) and/or visit our flying field to talk with various members and watch them fly. The club maintains several trainer airplanes, and an instructor can take you up for a flight with a buddy-box controller. The instructor can then take control if you get in trouble.
If you enjoy the buddy-box controller, it is then time to consider joining the fun. In order to become a flying member of the MARKS RC Club, there are a few steps to complete:
- Decide on a membership type
- Join the AMA
- Register with the FAA
- Complete the TRUST training
- Submit your MARKS application
- Pay your dues
- Start dreaming about the planes you want
Visiting the area?
Because of the MARKS Club’s close proximity to vacation destinations, many people visiting the area ask about guest fly privileges at our field. Due to the large number of requests and in order to maintain safety standards at the field, the Club’s longstanding policy has been that a current club member, in good standing, needs to accompany all guests while at the field and that the guest must be a current AMA member. This privilege is limited to three visits. For individuals that wish to fly more than three time, the club has a special vacation membership available.
